EDUCATION

The long history of women and education has always been a struggle for equal access. Social attitudes, economic conditions, sex discrimination, religion have all played a part in restricting women’s education.

Even today, girls make up three in five of the 71 million children on the planet who do not attend school and of the 775 million adults who are illiterate, two thirds of them are women.
